Major in Languages

The Languages Major allows students to get a general introduction to the study of languages with a specialization in two languages of the student’s choice.

Requirements: 24 hours of course work, to be distributed as follows:

1. Latin or Greek 101 (3 hours)*
2. Linguistics 101 or 292 (3 hours)*
3. Nine hours of course work above 300 in two of the following languages (18 hours):
     1. French, German, Greek, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, Russian (200 or above) 
     2. Japanese*, Chinese, and Spanish* 
     3. Option: Comparative Literature 223 or 380 may also be counted toward category 3 

Note: A minor or a second major is necessary


Minor in Management :

Students interested in obtaining a Minor concentration in Management must complete 18 hours with a "C-" or better from the following:

1.Six to nine hours from
     1. MGMT 113: An Introduction to Management * 
     2. MGMT 202: Principles of Financial Accounting *
     3. MGMT 290: Introduction to Business Statistics * 
     4. ECON 105: Introductory Macroeconomics
     5. ECON 106: Introductory Microeconomics
     6. ECON 300: Intermediate Microeconomics

2.Nine to twelve hours from 300-level management courses
     1. Human Resources Management (MGMT 306, MGMT 308)* 
     2. Accounting (MGMT 303) * 
     3. Law (MGMT 310) 
     4. Marketing (MGMT 322) 
     5. Financial Management (MGMT 326) 
     6. International Management (MGMT 328) * 
     7. Entrepreneurial Studies (MGMT 324) * 
     8. Production and Operations (MGMT 300) * 

Students are encouraged to include courses from several areas of study in their minor.

Only students not majoring in Economics will be allowed to include economics courses in their Minor in Management. A maximum of three credits of economics will be counted toward the minor.

Some 400 level courses will be allowed with Dean’s approval. Please consult the UNM catalog for course descriptions and prerequisites.

Yeah

I asked myself "what am I doing with my life" and the only answer I could come up with was "wasting it" so I figure why not waste it in college? I tried, and failed, going once but that was a community college now I think I will try, and fail, going to a University....If they'll have me. I have money, what more do they want?

So I need to learn to be frugal and stop "balling out of control". I've assumed college is expensive... And I've been told going to college full time and working full time is hard (to weak a term?). I'm going to go to UNM on Thursday to try and apply. I need to take the ACT or SAT or this other test called the "Compass Exam" an exam I know nothing about, so we'll see...Odds are I'll fail and won't be able to go.

On the other hand I was thinking of making videos on youtube! I don't know what about yet but they'd probably be educational, perhaps about my journey in learning Japanese? I could talk about what I know about the various partials patterns and so on. Here is one of the videos I've made:
